Teacher Appreciation Week

DEAR TEACHER…

Teachers, you're so appreciated! This Teacher Appreciation Week, we wanted every teacher to know exactly what they mean to the people they've taught.

Every note on this wall is a story of a teacher's impact, told by the students, parents, and colleagues who care about them.

Thank you! Your submission has been received!

Mrs. Himschoot
,

Mrs. Himschoot was always so patient and kind in class. She would push you to do your best, but had such a good balance of also seeing you as more than that one test you bombed. Mrs. Himschoot is a huge influence on who I want to be as a teacher, and she is one of the main reasons I teach the way I do. Thank you for all you do and have done Mrs. Himschoot!

Dear
Rashid Silvera
,

Dr Silvera was my AP Psychology teacher. As a reserved but eager teen, I was so grateful to finally have a teacher who saw me, but didn't try to change me. He offered me other avenues to shine in his class and outside. I often think about how safe I felt in his class and tried to channel the things he did to create that environment when I became a teacher myself.
Thank you so very much for all the thought and care your put into your spaces.

Dear
Mr. Flug
,

I'm not sure if you remember having me in class - but I wanted to reach out and let you know that you had a real impact on me. Even if I may not have always been the most focused in your classroom (I was often talking to my neighbors rather than paying attention to what was happening at the front of the room. Lo siento.)

I don't know exactly how I performed in your class, but something you did really stuck. Your class helped ignite my love and passion for language learning. I went on to study Spanish and Latin American/Latino Studies in undergrad, studied abroad in Chile, and then lived and taught in Honduras.

I also went on to become a teacher myself in rural Washington, where most of my families and students spoke Spanish. Because of the foundation you helped build, I was able to build real relationships with them and still speak to some of them now (10 years later).

And now, years later, I'm teaching my own son Spanish. So in a very real way, your influence has made it to the next generation!

Thank you for your patience, your passion, and for not giving up on students who didn't always show up their best in class. It mattered more than you know!

Con much cariño,
Whitney

Hi Ms. Olson!

Thank you so much for your willingness to share all the amazing ways you've been using Brisk with your students. The thank you letter from your students meant the world to me. Moments like that are exactly why I love this role at Brisk Teaching.

I'm so excited for your Educator's Voice video and the impact it will have on other teachers and their students. The ripple effect of what you're sharing is going to reach so many learners.

You are truly amazing, and so is everything you do every single day. Thank you for being you.
